What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in VFX?
I admire the work that goes into creating films and I love to be a part of that.
What hobbies do you have?
I love creating pixel art as then I can work alongside my friends in creating video games to play together. I also have a love for oil painting, as it allows me to look closely at the human form and really appreciate everyone's uniqueness.
How would your peers describe you in 3 words?
Loyal, determined and empathetic.
Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.
Whilst I haven't had any direct experience working within the visual effects industry, I have spent my time at Escape attending workshops and seminars held by those who have many years of expierence in the fields I want to go in to and that has provided me with, what I believe to be, valuable experience and understanding of what is needed of me to become a great VFX artist.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In the project, Outpatient, my role was to be the rotoscope and clean-up artist; along with this I aided in coordinating the project to ensure everything went smoothly.
What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?
One lesson I will carry with me into future projects is that time managment is very important, as towards the end of the project, when certain aspects needed to be reworked, it became hard to fit in everything that needed to be finished off; so setting aside enough time to fix any mistakes or rework any shots is very important.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
I would love to start off as a rotoscoping artist on any size project. I chose this as it is what I am passionate about and the opportunity to strengthen my skills in this field would be amazing.
What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?
The thing I am most proud of from the past three years is having the courage to step into the visual effects field; I didn't know much about it before attending Escape, so it was a tough descision for me to make when it came to what degree I was going to go for, but I am so glad that I chose to take this step in my life.
