What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in VFX?

My inspiration for choosing VFX was the ability to see the ideas and concepts I have come to life and be seen by everyone. I've always had a creative mind and always wanted to pursue a career that is creative and also challenging VFX allows me to push myself and constantly learn.

What hobbies do you have?

My hobbies reflect my career, as I'm a big film buff. I love watching films and seeing how different directors create their shots using different cinematography methods and other creative and ingenious ways to trick us into thinking what we see is real. I am also a massive football fan, going to games regularly and watching it all the time, its something I have loved since I was little and will never change.

How would your peers describe you in 3 words?

Straightforward, Creative, Determined

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.

I haven't had any direct experience working in the industry, though my time as a student ambassador for Escape Studios has let me talk to many guest speakers from different areas of the industry and has also allowed me to connect and network with other great artists which has allowed me to grow and better myself as an artist.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In the project, Game Heist, my role was the director of the project. As director and also it also being my idea, I thought this idea would be the best way to show off both animation and VFX with both disciplines being given a strong idea to highlight their work and also to come together to create a great project. As an artist, I've always been interested in ideas that seem simple, but then have a hidden layer of detail and meaning towards them.

What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?

One of the lessons I've learned from this project is communication. After having to manage people's work and deadlines, communication became crucial in helping the project along in case people couldn't fulfil work for personal reasons or they were struggling in certain areas. Without communication, I don't think this project would have been able to be where it is now.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

My ideal first role in the industry would be anything along the lines of production. These projects have shown me how much I enjoy working with others and also helping them as well. I also have to be organised in my work and have to plan things and break every step down, so I think production would be a great start for me.

What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?

My greatest achievement over the last 3 years has to be our first third-year project, Theseus and the Minotaur. Theseus and the Minotaur was my first experience as a director and organising everyone was my passion project and an idea I was fully passionate about. I was proud of every member of our team and what they did and produced to help make an idea I grew very attached to, to its full glory.
