Hello, I'm Simone Pece, an aspiring VFX artist fueled by a relentless passion for storytelling through visual effects. Growing up immersed in a family of Graphic Designers and artists, I was captivated by the power of VFX to transport audiences to extraordinary worlds. I am drawn to the technical challenges and creative opportunities that VFX offers, and I am eager to embark on a career where I can contribute to bringing imaginative visions to life on the screen.

GET TO KNOW SIMONE
What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in VFX?
My parents were digital designers, and my brother was a filmmaker, producing short films and commercials in my hometown. I've always been interested in the world of cinema and, thanks to YouTube, I discovered the realm of VFX. One of my favourite channel was Corridor Crew, a US-based VFX company that engaged in challenges using programs like Premiere, After Effects, Blender, and Maya.
What hobbies do you have?
My favourite hobbies are playing video games, skateboarding, going to the gym, and exploring the world of motorsports, including motorcycles, cars, and airplanes.

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.
During the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to work for a week at my brother's company, Stratostorm, located in Brazil. Embracing the role of a 3D Asset Modeller, I delved into the captivating realm of visual effects. Immersed in the dynamic atmosphere of the industry, I honed my skills while contributing to the creative process. This experience solidified my passion for VFX and fueled my determination to pursue a career in this exhilarating field.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In this project, I played a pivotal role as a 3D modeler, responsible for creating and refining assets that enriched the visual appeal of the short film. Beyond modelling, I also showcased my versatility by acting in scenes, utilizing my bedroom as a makeshift set. Furthermore, I contributed to the post-production process by conducting video editing tasks within Premiere, enhancing the overall narrative coherence and visual impact of the project. This multifaceted involvement allowed me to gain valuable insights across various aspects of filmmaking and VFX production.
What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?
One of the most crucial lessons I've learned over the years is the profound impact of teamwork and harmonizing with the group dynamic. This synergy not only enhances the overall quality of work, but also makes the journey immensely rewarding.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Beginning my career as a 3D Generalist is a thrilling prospect, offering a platform to delve into a multitude of facets within the 3D domain within a professional setting. This role presents an exciting journey of learning and growth as I explore diverse areas of expertise in the field.
What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?
Over the past three years, one of my most gratifying accomplishments has been the development of versatility within ZBrush, allowing me to create intricate and diverse digital artworks. Additionally, honing my teamwork abilities has been instrumental, fostering collaboration and collective success in creative projects.
