Visuals and artistry have always been the number one way I love to express myself. I have been passionate about the art of storytelling as long as I can remember. With a keen eye for 3D animation, I knew this was the path I wanted to take. Not only do I find this field enjoyable, I firmly believe that this media is an exquisite and universal way to share what you believe in with anyone, regardless of language.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Animation?
As I grew older, I came to realize the importance of keeping stories alive and I want to not only share my story, but stories from around the world through animation - something that absolutely anyone and everyone can enjoy regardless.
What hobbies do you have?
I love drawing and writing stories in my free time because of the creative liberty I can have and control using it as a vessel to express whatever I'm thinking. I find it a relaxing way to clear out my mind. It is the same reason why I love video editing and music. I love how I can be encapsulated into a quiet zone and make something beautiful out of it that I can share with people.
How would your peers describe you in 3 words?
Reliable, resistant and hardworking
Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.
Despite not having any direct experience within the industry, I took it upon myself to attend seminars and workshops and even took the opportunity to visit the London MPC HQ to hear from members of the industry themselves. I had the privilege of talking with a senior animator at MPC about what it was like to work in such a competitive work environment and to get an understanding of what is required for me to work in this industry.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In the project, X-Terminate, my role was spread across both pre-production and production, as a storyboard artist and concept artist in addition to being a creature animator. Because of our aim to achieve a high level of realism to our sci-fi project, I had spent a long time researching and finding references, such as assets for us to use when it came to concept art (going as far as actually finding counter parts and similar objects in the real world to take notes, photographs and sketches of). When it came to the animation, I had also helped in research the movements of our creature and helped create an animation bible with tips and notes on how to approach animating the creature for other animators to follow.
What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?
Always seek feedback. It's always noted to take all criticisms and turn them into constructive steps that can be used to improve and apply to future work. People are always happy to help and it's that little bit of help that may elevate your work even further.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Ideally, I would love to start as a general 3D Animator, whether it is a character or creature animator because I know there is still much to learn in this growing industry. This will help strengthen my skills through being exposed to exciting tasks to learn from which will hopefully help me expand to my other passions in storyboarding and concept art as I'll have a thorough understanding of the pipeline.
What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?
Entering my 3rd year, we were assigned a project that introduced us to Unreal Engine as a way of lighting and rendering our short films, as opposed to rendering using Maya's Arnold Renderer. It was completely new territory that we all had to learn. It took a lot of commitment and communication to over come obstacles and the absolute commitment and importance of teamwork that I will forever remember. Despite all the hardships, and many technical issues we had to face, I was proud of the short film we had created.
