Hello, I’m Blest Bokuma, a young man with a penchant for reading manga and light novels or drawing in my free time. My fascination with the animation industry stems from my love for animated shows and movies as a kid and in my adolescence. I've decided that my purpose in this world is to bring entertainment to others. Contributing to animated works as a storyboarding artist or a character animator would do nothing short of making me happy and getting paid for it as well.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Animation?

My love for animated shows and movies pushed me to pursue an animation career as I believe my God-given purpose is to help entertain people. Working in this field will enable me to not only get paid for doing what I already like but also be a part of works that would help captivate audiences.

What hobbies do you have?

One of my hobbies has always been drawing in my spare time as it's a healthy way for me to vent my emotions and is generally very enjoyable for me. In recent times I've picked up working out as another hobby as I think a person should have more than one hobby and be able to talk to others about a myriad of different topics plus I just want to be in shape. I play video games sometimes when I don't feel like working on something for once.

How would your peers describe you in 3 words?

Funny, Energetic, Driven

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to work in the industry, but Escape Studios has provided many opportunities to listen to those from the industry on their experiences and what to expect upon entering it.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

On Father's Blade, I played the role of Storyboard Artist and Animator. Drawing from previous projects, I opted to keep the storyboards loose, omitting unnecessary details to focus solely on conveying the main action of each panel. This decision was also informed by the understanding that certain aspects of the storyboard might need to be adjusted based on feedback.

What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?

A lesson I've learned from this project that I carry forward in my career is the importance of communication within the team when facing challenges. For instance, if personal issues are hindering progress, it's crucial to inform at least the producer about the situation.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

I'm inclined to a position as a Storyboard Artist to start with, as I'd love to get a better idea of the pre-production phase in the industry. It would strengthen my abilities as a Storyboard Artist and expose me to other aspects of pre-production.

What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?

This year, I tackled 2D animation again in new software that I was far from familiar with and had spent the last few months learning about it and even produced some great 2D animated shots.
