I'm a 3D Character Animator with ambitions to become a Storyboard Artist later in my career. To fully understand how the pipeline works, I want to start as an animator and work my way to storyboarding with an understanding of its importance in the studio. What drives me is how interchanging the skills can be and how much there is to learn. There are always opportunities to grow, improve and problem-solve, which I can't wait to start experiencing myself.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Animation?
Seeing the 'behind the scenes' and 'making of' Frozen 2 when it was coming out. Discovering how my favourite movies were made and knowing that I could have a career in it made me grow a passion for the industry and become a part of it.
What hobbies do you have?
Reading romance books, Gaming and Illustrating. These are all ways of being teleported into different and fictional worlds that help in my creativity and imagination.
How would your peers describe you in 3 words?
Bubbly, Creative, Passionate
Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.
Not yet, but I have been connecting to people and attending talks where I have learnt more about the industry, which has only contributed to my excitement to break into the industry.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In this project 'X-Terminate', my roles were Concept Artist and Character Animator. Once the style was decided, it was up to me and my fellow Concept Artists to create assets that fit into the desired look of the short. As the production moved onto animation, I was given a shot to work on. While it isn't in the final edit, I was happy to have been able to work on animation for this project.
What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?
One lesson I will carry into future projects, my career and life as a whole is "Practice doesn't make perfect. The perfect practice is the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn." What I mean by this is there is no such thing as perfect, especially as a junior. But with the help of others, passion for problem-solving and being open to feedback, you will learn and grow until you don't make the same mistakes.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
I would love to start as a 3D Character Animator in any size production. This is because I would have the opportunity to learn and be a part of a team working toward the same end product of high-end animation. This role can allow me to strengthen my skills in animation for film or episodic and be exposed to new, exciting tasks to discover how the skills I already have applied in an active studio pipeline.
What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?
Since the beginning of the year, I took on the challenge of attending at least 3 networking events while creating a pitch bible for my own story. It took a lot of commitment, courage, time management and problem-solving. I learned so much about myself and the importance of understanding where my skill level is and how to keep improving it. I was incredibly proud of the work created and the new connections and friends along the way.
