My names Aman Sahota and, as a character and prop artist, I possess valuable experience in modeling realistic characters and organic assets for projects in studio settings, employing industry-standard workflows. What has always captivated me in video games is the characters and their unique designs by the studio, as well as the concept art, which is the main reason I started 3D. I am excited to continue expanding and refining my skills further, with the goal of someday contributing to the production of an amazing and influential game that inspires and uplifts others.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Game Art?

My inspiration was characters that were made using any 3D software, as that’s what I wanted to make and I had a burning passion to make photorealistic characters.

What hobbies do you have?

Football
Basketball
Volleyball
Gaming

How would your peers describe you in 3 words?

Observant, Efficient, Creative

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.

I haven’t had any experience in the industry just yet, but from going to talks and workshops from different members of the industry, I believe I have a good understanding of what I need to produce as well as what I need to require.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In the project, Echoes of the Samurai, I was a prop artist for the team and, as a character artist, making the statues and animal statues was the main priority for me as this would build up my portfolio. For this project, I made a dragon steatite, which was a challenge for me. I also made miniature statues that were used as vases. Researching the different types of animals in the 1800s was a challenge as there were not many dragon images which was tough as I had to work through it using a lot of art defences my team had and sculpt it close to what the environment looked like.

What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?

One lesson I would say from being at Escape for 3 years is to have lot a lot of art references/concept art for the idea we are trying to achieve as otherwise this will hinder us towards the production stage of things and not achieve the final idea we initially thought of. This would provide a clear direction of what our assets will look like and what needs to be put in the project.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

For my first industry job, I would personally like to be a 3D Character Artist as this is what I want to be in the industry, as well as this will help me hone my own techniques to creating characters. From the start of my 3D journey, character art was the main goal for me, so being apart of any character artists would be amazing and help me a lot.

What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?

I would say in my 2nd year group project, we managed to get The Rookies to post our team project, which was very amazing as it was the first big group to notice our work .
