Hi, my name is Dominykas Stankevicius, and I'm an aspiring Weapon/Hard Surface Artist. I'm a massive fan of video games. I've grown up playing them and will hopefully continue to do so in the future The only difference being that I will be playing these games whilst also hopefully working alongside an amazing team making weapons or hard surface assets.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Game Art?

Growing up, I was a massive video game fan, playing them everyday after school, and really wanted to get involved. This started with wanting to do Computer Science, but once I found out about 3D modelling, I never looked back. I absolutely love making 3D models, and am most driven and passionate when making weapons.

What hobbies do you have?

I like cycling because I feel free cycling at higher speed and feeling the wind. I find it a much more enjoyable and pleasant exercise than jogging.

How would your peers describe you in 3 words?

Passionate, Dedicated, Meticulous

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.

I sadly do not have any experience, besides attending events like EGX, as well as talks and seminars with presenters like playground games, but I would love to gain some, and prove my worth working alongside others.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In the project, Echoes of the Samurai, my role was a Prop Artist, alongside creating some weapons to be added to the scene. The project followed a realistic art style, so I tried my best to follow realistic reference to achieve the desired look.

What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?

During this project, I learnt more about how to properly apply texel density to my meshes so they all look of similar quality and detail when placed in the level. It's a given to always follow feedback, but it was amazing how much everyone's work improved from following everyone else's feedback.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

I would love for my first role in the industry to be a Weapon Artist, but if that's not attainable, then Hard Surface Artist, to improve my skills, and hopefully specialise more in weapons down the line.

What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?

Over the past 3 years, I am most proud of my progress with weapon art compared to the lack of practice. The quality difference between my 2 weapons is staggering.
