My name is Igor Strzelecki and I am a 3rd year student. I specialise in Maya (prop modelling) and Substance Painter. I enjoy modelling for the problem-solving part and on Painter I like seeing how the whole asset has come together and being able to polish it up.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in Game Art?

To be a part of creating great games and improving them. When playing games, I was always thinking about how they could be improved. I wanted to be part of that change and make games greater.

What hobbies do you have?

Football, Coaching, Sports, Gaming. Football and coaching help me with leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. These transition into group projects as I understand communication is key and I'm able to work closely with my team whilst helping out others when needed. Gaming helps me understand the meaning behind games and helps me realise how certain aspects of games could be improved.

How would your peers describe you in 3 words?

Sporty, Persistent, Considerate

Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.

I have attended a variety of lectures and talks with industry professionals who have given me valuable feedback on my work. They have also given me an understanding of how the industry works and what is required to transition from a student to a professional.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

During this final group project my role was a Prop Artist. I created assets to fill up the level in order for the scene to look good aesthetically and complete.

What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?

Communication is key and everything needs to be discussed; before starting, during the process, and after completion. This is so that everything can be organised, no roles overlap, and there is no misunderstanding.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

Prop Artist. I enjoy being a Prop Artist as I get to make a variety of assets. Sometimes something as simple as a spoon or, other times, something more complicated like a holographic table.

What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?

I am proud of being able to complete my projects to a good standard whilst handling and progressing in many areas outside of Escape, one such example being coaching.
