I am a 3D character animator, with an affinity towards lip-sync. I love that moment when visuals mix with sound to create something more profound. It motivates me more than anything! At Escape Studios, I learned to also make game animations and implement them into Unreal Engine. I got a taste of what it's like to manage a team from a technical side and got to dabble in acting, both traditional and for motion capture. I'm looking forward to creating more audio-visual experiences as my career progresses.

What was your inspiration for pursuing a career in this industry?
I like making things other people can enjoy in some way, making them feel something, be it happiness, joy, sadness, confusion. I've tried a number of hobbies throughout my childhood... and animation just seemed to stick the most. Felt easiest, most fun, and . And, well, here I am today!
What hobbies do you have?
I like making comics in my free time. It's a nice alternative to animation that still allows me to express my creativity, while also exploring completely different medium - 2D art and writing. I also enjoy playing video games with friends, just to take my mind off of things and relax, And if my schedule allows it, I love going rock climbing or hitting up the gym. Nothing quite reduces stress like physical exercise.
How would your peers describe you in 3 words?
Outgoing. Creative. Ambitious.
Do you have any industry experience? If so, please give a concise explanation of the experience.
I haven't had any direct experience working within the industry, however I've met various industry members during various talks, presentations and workshops at the college. Multiple feedback sessions have given me ample insight into what animation production is like in the professional environment, and I'm confident it's enough for some surface level understanding of what to expect in my future jobs.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
My role on the 'Same Day Delivery' project was to be the Technical Director. It was my job to set up the animation scenes, file references and general workflow from exporting files between Unreal Engine and Maya. I was also the 'go to' person in the team whenever somebody had any Unreal-related queries.
What lessons did you learn from undertaking your project that you'll take with you into your career?
For the most part, I think Same Day Delivery has been a great opportunity for me to brush up my Unreal Engine skills; even more so than during all 3 previous years combined. Given that I want to tap into the game animation industry, any amount of experience with relevant software is very welcome. I now have a lot better understanding of level sequencer setup, texturing and lighting.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
It would be amazing to be a Junior Animator for any sort of games production. It would tie together both my love for animating and working on interactive experiences. I would love to progress further in that direction and being around people who do this for a living would certainly be a worthwhile experience.
What's an achievement from the past 3 years that you're proud of?
I think the work I'm most proud of so far is, hands-down, the "ICare" project from the start of my third year. It took a lot of effort, communication and cooperation, but the team handled it very well and while managing to maintain a friendly atmosphere. In the end, all the effort paid of, as the short turned out great! Even now, over four months after its release, we're still seeing various awards rolling in every now and then.
